#Shopping with Fran - The First of the Sparkle Editions

Topshop £69
Style Theory: A new 'Shopping with Fran'.... I completely believe that sparkles are not just for Christmas, they can be worn all year, whenever, wherever! I love a dressed down, dressed up look because you can get your money's worth out of the items, wearing them during the day and for a night out (I like to get plenty of wear out of clothes). Here is a round up the most gorgeous pieces I found in the shops today with a generous splash of sparkles:

The Topshop sweater above is the perfect dressed up, dressed down top, it is sweatshirt fabric so really easy to wear. I would pair it on a night out with slouchy boyfriend jeans and some black heels for a laid back but festive and dressed up look. It would also look great with ankle length jeans and black vans for an easy daytime look. I am wearing a size 10 they come up pretty big but I do like to wear sweaters big so I would order my normal size.

This Topshop jumper is 'all bells and whistles' but feels fab on. Unlike the sweater above it is a knit and looks a little more dressy. I am wearing a size 12 (I sized up one size) I would definitley recommend sizing up one size as it comes up a little more and it fairly short. It would look great as an all black look with black jeans and high heeled black pointy boots or wear dressed down with jeans and trainers..

Topshop - coming soon
So this is a bit of a man repeller outfit, but I kind love these trousers, I cannot find them on the website at the moment but they are in store. These are a size 10, they are tight around the bum and tum but I think look weirdly cool? I am feeling the love the flare again, so flattering and such a nice change from the skinny trouser.
Pink Velvet Jacket - Topshop £75
Pink Velvet Trousers - Topshop £75
This is one of the most in demand velvet suits this year, it does keep popping back into stock so keep a look out for it. I sized down with the jacket, this is a size 8, it is quite a neat fit but the size 10 jacket was far too big across my shoulders so I had to opt for the 8. The trousers are a beautiful fit, I am wearing a size 10 and they fit well. Ignore the top underneath, I thought I had picked up a plain black body top to wear underneath, I didn't realise it had all the lacing, a bit too risquè for me! This suit would look fab with a white tee underneath and gold heels, the perfect mix of feminine and masculine.
Topshop £46
This is such a cute floral dress, it would look great with black opaque tights and black ankle boots. I am wearing a size 10 and it was definitely true to size. Really flattering and easy to wear..
Topshop £38
Another top I fell in love with, I love the one shoulder, the structured bones running vertically in the top really hold you in and it feels like a really fancy 'out, out' top and I havent bought an over the top 'out' top for ages! This is one size bigger than my normal size They had sold out of 10s and I think that would fit better. Obviously I am not lucky in the chest area but even if you did have a bigger chest I reckon it would hold you in! Love the one arm covered part too!!
Jacket - Topshop £75
I am slightly obsessed with this mustard colour this season and had to buy this jacket, it is double breasted and quite a statement but will look great thrown over a t shirt, jeans and trainers or worn over my shoulders with a black dress for the party season. This is a size 8, again I sized down as it comes up big across the shoulders.

H&M £39.99
This top caught my eye as I walked past, I love the jewel detail on the shoulders. It is gorgeous on, I am wearing a 36 (size 10) and I would say it is true to size. Beware though there is no give in the fabric at all, it is quite tight across the top of the arms but quite lovely on!
H&M £49.99
This dress looks so much better on than on the hanger, it does come up big so size down, I am wearing a 34 (size 8) and I am normally at least a size 10. The dress would look fab with tan knee high boots and a long camel or khaki coat.

H&M £17.99
Such a good sparkly jumper, it says online that it is a fine knit but it is actually quite a dense knit, it is warm, I love the high neck that stays up and the fact it is slightly oversized (this is a size 10) A great easy jumper to wear out with jeans and fancy shoes..

I have a feeling I may be peaking too soon with the whole sparkly pre-Christmas excitement, genuinely I think I should be wearing sequins and drinking wine most nights, bring on the November/December festivities. The stress of all the building work (which is very nearly finished) has now made me want to go out loads...watch me crash and burn in a week ;-)

Are you feeling the same or is it just me? As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Fran xx

  1. Definately not peaking too soon, I've only got one weekend not booked up until Christmas so the sparkle will increase week by week!

  3. Hi Fran or whoever has bought the pink velvet jacket,
Are the sleeves quite a narrow fit if you take the exact size or does it fit a cashmere jumper underneath?
    Thanks
