The Perfect T-Shirt

Style Theory: The white tee, the ultimate wardrobe essential, can be dressed down with slouchy jeans and trainers, can be worn for work tucked into tailored trousers or can be dressed up tucked into a net skirt for an eyecatching but laid back look.

But how difficult is it to find the perfect tee? It needs to be cut beautifully so it skims over lumps and bumps, be a good quality fabric so it is not see through and holds it's shape and be the perfect bright, shade of white. Sounds like a lot to ask, no?

Step forward YunionT , their T-shirts have been designed by fashion designer Melanie Morton who has meticulously crafted the ultimate T-shirt from sourcing the very best opaque, luxurious fabric (and when I say the best I mean the exact same fabric and craftmanship you would find the very top designers using) to taking great care with measurements so that each T-shirt flatters the figure and creates the perfect silhouette on which to build your outfit, all designed and made in the UK.

I met Melanie Norton, the founder of Yunion T through a Trust in Fashion event I attended and immediately loved the sound of the perfect T Shirt she had created (I have tried but failed to find the perfect tee in the past sometimes paying well above the odds in the hope it will be the one) She kindly gave me a round neck tee to try, the first thing I noticed was it's amazing quality, it is a dense cotton but breathable, it fits beautifully and is such a good, flattering cut. I styled it with jeans and my gold shoes..

The perfect T-shirt is no longer a myth, it exists! I am so excited by new wardrobe classics Melanie has planned to introduce to the collection in the future. The options for white t-shirt based outfits are endless, I will be wearing mine a lot this summer. When ordering the sizes are true to size and really do flatter.

Are you a fan of the white t-shirt, what are you wardrobe classics? I think I would say this season, a good Tee, a navy blazer and a really good fitting pair of ankle length jeans.

As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Frances xxx

*I was gifted the tee but I was under no obligation to blog about it, all opinions and thoughts are my own. Check out @Foxstarphotography on Insta..very talented lady xx

The Luxe Bomber Jacket

5.25.2016

Style Theory: The Luxe Bomber, the one jacket that will immediately update your look. Featured heavily on the SS16 catwalks by Saint Laurent to Dries Van Noten to Gucci, the satin bomber jacket, preferably heavily embroidered is the edgy, cool jacket to give your SS16 outfits a 'lift'

It has taken me a little while to get on board with this trend, but keep your outfit simple underneath and this jacket can do all the talking for you. Pair with a tee, ankle length jeans and a pair of trainers or heels for the evening for an impeccable 2016 look.

Here are the best on the high street now...

Topshop Two In One Reversible Bomber £85

Loving this bomber jacket, it is quite 'out there' and a real statement jacket. The fact it is reversible is such a good idea, two jackets in one, I love the blue quilted side. No fancy outfits needed underneath just keep it simple.
Topshop Shiny Bomber £60
This would look fab with a breton top or pale denim shirt underneath, add a pair of white ankle length boyfriend jeans and trainers for a grown up but cool take on the bomber.
Missguided Premium Embroidered Bomber Jacket £40
Less shiny, than the bomber jacket above, this jacket is heavily embroidered and is a real 'trophy' jacket. Mix up the florals with a stripey top underneath but keep jeans and shoes simple, a pair of stan smith trainers or black converse will look fab with this.

New Look £34.99
Gorgeous embroidery detail on this jacket on a monochrome base. An easy jacket to wear, looks great on and is a good price for a 'fashion' look.
New look White Floral Print Contrast Jacket £34.99
This is a the perfect spring/summer jacket, girly print mixed with a tomboy bomber shape is a complete winner. This would look fab with a black tee, denim cut off shorts and white superga trainers.
Mango Velvet Jacket £89.99
This jacket will take you smoothly into AW16, it is all about textures and fabrics next season with velvet being a front runner. This looks sleek, add a breton underneath and a pair of blue skinny jeans and trainers for a cool look.
Asos Premium Embroidered Jacket £65
Love the pink sleeves on this bomber jacket and a slightly longer length.
Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren £145
This is my favourite bomber, I love the colour and the print, very Gucci-esque and looks great with shorts but will look equally as good in the winter with a tight fitting biker jacket underneath. Also you won't be bumping into people wearing the same on the high street.
Zara Embroidered Jacket £69.99
A beautiful soft colour, this pale pink bomber jacket is a gentle take on the trend, it would look fab with white jeans and a pale grey tee for beautiful spring outfit.
Zara Lace Bomber £49.99
A little different but this is the perfect dressed up bomber jacket, with a delicate lace design this looks really designer-esque, just add a tee, a pair of boyfriend jeans and heels for a beautiful Spring/summer look.

I am officially on board with this trend, loving the red Ralph Lauren jacket (it is in my Asos shopping basket) I really like the way these jackets do all the work for you so your outfit and accessories can be quite plain just add one of these jackets for some drama.

Do you have a trophy bomber jacket, which one have you gone for? As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Frances xxxx

Spotlight on River Island

5.23.2016

Style Theory: River Island has evolved, no longer just for the teens and early twenty year olds, it has some really fantastic classic and edgy fashion pieces for us 30/40/50/60 year olds. They excel in denim, I always find some beautiful blouses and their underwear is gorgeous.

I popped into the River Island Style Studios in River Island on Oxford Street to have a browse. They have a lovely space in which you can privately, comfortably try on loads of fab pieces, some really talented stylists to help you find some key looks, you just need to book and it is all complimentary...absolutely worth a visit..

Outfit Above:

This shirt is beautiful on, I love the sheer panel at the front, shows a little but not too much! It looks great with the RI lingerie just seen underneath, amazing price for a gorgeous bra and super comfortable on. The jeans above tick all the boxes for me, they are comfortable, very this season with a step hem and look as good with trainers are they do with heels. The sandals are incredibly comfortable, flattering on the ankle and with a block heel easy to walk in..

A surprise hit, this denim dress is gorgeous on, it is a heavyweight denim so skims over all lumps and bumps and will be fab in the summer with white pumps. The patchwork details gives it an edge and the length is flattering.

This is a fab little skirt and will look great in the summer with the tie up sandals and a white tee, for now I styled it over a fine metallic dress for a dressed up but comfortable look. Love the layered look and I adore the long waistcoat/coat below, it looks so amazing with the skirt but unfortunately had sold out in store..

I really wanted this maxi dress to work, the colour is stunning and it would look amazing on someone taller than me (I am 5ft3...just!) The panel at the bottom in see through so it lightens the overall maxi-ness of the dress. It does come up a little big so if you are in between sizes size down.

The lace top below looks far more expensive that it's £40 price tag, it would look great with slouchy jeans (the twisted hem one above) and dressed down with trainers or dressed up with heels (the nude colour sandals I am wearing in the photos above also come in black here)

RI Suit - Sold out online available in store only

This is fairly out there but I saw it a while ago and just had to try it on, for a wedding it would look amazing with gold heels and a cream blouse or cream silk camisole top...Love love it.

I was so surprised by how many fab pieces caught my eye and I loved having a good look through the store to find those eye catching things that would suit me, funnily enough I seemed to choose almost all RI studio,  at the top end of RI prices but the designs, cuts and fabrics really stood out, I guess that is why I was drawn to them. So plenty on my shopping list from River Island, I have started by buying the pink tie sandals, they were too comfortable and flattering not to buy!

Have you shopped in River Island recently, is there anything that has caught your eye? As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Fran xxx
