Jumper - M&S £35
Leather Trousers - M&S £199
Bag - M&S £55
Shoes - M&S £69
Style Theory: As the leaves turn to red and gold on the trees, the days get shorter and the nights longer, it is time to cocoon ourselves in cosy, soft knitwear. It is one of the things I most look forward to each Autumn/Winter season, buying new knitwear to keep me looking stylish but feeling super snug for the long months ahead.

Marks and Spencer excels in knitwear, the textures, shapes and colours always add some much needed interest to my Autumn wardrobe basics. Each piece of knitwear can be incredibly versatile, dressed down with jeans and wellies for weekend walks in the woods or dressed up with tailored trousers and heels for a smart, work look..buy well and wear all season and for seasons to come.

Jumper - M&S £35
Leather Trousers - M&S £199
Leather Bag- M&S £55
Shoes - M&S £69
Big, chunky knits are, again, big news, this beautiful turquoise jumper is warm, soft and feels like a huge hug around me (I am wearing size 10 - it's true to size). I have paired it with buttery soft, leather trousers (they come up a little large these are a size 8) and heels but it can equally be teamed with a pair of skinny jeans and trainers..the colour is perfect for this time of year and flattering against the skin. Clash up with red and pink accessories to add a splash of colour to a winter look.

Jacket - M&S £89
Poloneck - M&S £17.50
Jeans - M&S £45
Shoes - M&S £39.50
Leather Bag- M&S £55
The skinny rib jumper is an eternally useful piece in every wardrobe. Wear layered under jackets, this black boucle jacket looks amazing on (size down), I love it wearing it with jeans and heels for a dressed up/dressed down look. Or layer the skinny polo under dresses for added style and warmth, super versatile, a key Autumn/Winter wardrobe basic.

Cashmere Jumper - M&S £99
Cashmere Scarf - M&S £125 or similar £25
Leather Biker Jacket - M&S £249
Trainers - M&S £49.50

This outfit, to me, is pure luxurious heaven, I am a huge fan of M&S cashmere, the cashmere jumpers are super soft, cut beautifully, wash well and keep their look wear after wear. I paired my navy, cashmere jumper (size 12) with a pair of ultra cosy cashmere tracksuit bottoms (size small), a cashmere oversized scarf, leather biker (size down) and leather trainers. It really is the one outfit I wish I could wear every day, from the moment I wake to lazy evenings at home with glass of wine and a good book/netflix series. The biker is one of my Autumn must haves, size down and wear it neat (but make sure you can still fit a jumper under) wear with dresses and trainers or boots and add this beautiful cashmere scarf for extra warmth.

Autumn and Winter I am ready for you.....weekend afternoons in a pretty pub with a glass of red wine, walks through the countryside finishing with a mug of hot chocolate and dark evenings spent in front of the fire...add the perfect knitwear to snuggle in to and suddenly winter doesn't look quite so bad...

Best Beauty....

Bobbi Brown Foundation Set

Style Theory: I am no beauty expert but I have been introduced to the most amazing new products over the last few months via QVC. Some loved, well known ones and some new beauty products that I hadn't tried (the Bobbi Brown foundation is amazing!)

Here is a run down of my top five beauty items that caught my eye when I was at QVC recently, it really is worth looking out for their special value sets as they normally package together all the best sellers of the range (not the duds as some sets have in them) and you can save loads..

Here are my faves...

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Duo and Brush £45
This Bobbi Brown foundation set is a revelation, the foundation stick is great to use under eyes, around the nose and chin for the places you need a little more matt coverage. The Skin Foundation with SPF 15 evens out the skin tone, is super light on the skin and gives the skin a subtle, incredibly healthy glow. I am wearing the 'natural' shade in the photo above, it is so light you can still see my freckles but really makes my skin look naturally healthier and evens my tone in a non cakey, mask like way. The set also includes a great foundation brush, I am officially a convert to this foundation.
Liz Earle Indulgent Beauty 6 Piece Collection was £75 now £49.96
Love this set, it is full of the most iconic, fabulous FULL sized products. Starting with the original cleanse and polish which gently removes every last trace of make up and dirt from my face with the help of a muslin (there are two included) It leaves my face feeling fresh and deep cleaned but is super gentle on my skin. There is also the new Cleanse and Polish Mimosa and Angelica (in the Uplifting collection) the smell is divine and again it leaves skin feeling (and smelling amazing)  The Instant Boost Skin Tonic immediately brightens my skin leaving it feeling zingy fresh, then slathering on Skin Repair Moisturiser which at the moment I put two to three layers on as my skin is feeling dry. Added to this is a beautiful full sized body wash and a full sized handwash. It all comes in a beautiful gift box so is the ultimate present (or treat to yourself!)
Nails Inc 3 Piece Porchester Square Collection £29
This is the best selling Nails Inc colour on QVC, muted, neutral and super flattering on nails this set is such an easy colour to wear and looks chic with a nonchalant edge.
Tula Day and Night Cream £40
I have nearly finished my second pot of this moisturiser, it is light, non greasy but makes my skin feel so hydrated, I am a huge fan of this range.
Julep Lip Gloss £24
I know I have mentioned this lipgloss before but I cant resist putting it in my top 5, just gorgeous thick, mousse like gloss that glides onto my lips and gives a beautiful rich colour, and it stays on for hours, eventually when it does wear off it leaves the most beautiful lipstain colour on lips, it looks very cool, I have the 'pinks' set.

It is so worth checking out QVC for beauty and skincare, they have the most amazing range of brands and have some great deals on all the big names.. Perfect if you are looking for a special gift or having a treat yo'self moment which we all need to do from time to time..

Thanks for reading, until next time Fran xx

Western Ways....

10.19.2018

Style Theory: This season there are not loads of stand out trends, but the one that does excite me and one I am buying into is the Western look. I am not talking full on Jessie from Toy Story, but subtle western hints to add to your existing wardrobe to bring it fully into AW18 but with a hint of cowgirl.

I am not going to lie, seeing Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born has got me really into the western look, he looked amazing (see below) I have always loved cowboy boots so am now embracing the cowboy shirt look too..

Here are my favourite shirts on the high street at the moment...
Topshop £25
I love a checked shirt, an Autumn/Winter 'must have', great with jeans and boots and will also work in the summer with denim shorts and sandals. Wear now with a few buttons unbuttoned and add a few fine gold necklaces to glam up the look, add a pair of boyfriend jeans and heels for the perfect going out look.
Topshop £35
Ok, so not necessarily western but along that vibe, this shirt looks fab on, order your normal size, it is pj style shirt so looks fan with jeans and boots.
Topshop £30
This is a fab shape for a denim shirt, gently fitted creating a flattering silhouette. Wear with darker jeans/leather leggings, trainers and a checked blazer for a cool look.
H&M £24.99
Love this blouse, I have it, it looks amazing on I spotted it on EmmaRoseStyle - looked fab. A great basic to add to your wardrobe, wear with black jeans and heels for a cool night out look.
H&M £34.99
Another beauty of a blouse, again I saw this on Instagram on Buffysees.  It is a gorgeous blouse very Isabel Marant-esque - I think it has a hint of western about it if worn with jeans and western style boots. I am tending to size down on all H&M blouses and shirts this season, they seem to be huge!
H&M £14.99
Love this style of shirts, very sheriff like, they look pretty cool on with black ankle length jeans with ankle boots, make sure your jeans are short enough to show a little skin of you leg (cold I know) but it looks more flattering!
H&M £34.99
Love this pretty take on a denim shirt - again remember to size down, although I haven't tried this particular one on, in general they come up big.
H&M £34.99
I am stepping further away from the theme, but this is just one of those really good going out blouses, pair with black or blue jeans and a pair of spiked heel black ankle boots, easy, cool, non fussy 'out, out' look.
Zara £25.99
This blouse is not western but couldn't resist including it. I love the contrast collar with the spots, wear with slim ankle length navy tailored trousers and heels for a gorgeous work look.
Tabitha Webb £295
This is the dream Western shirt, it is 100% silk, made in the UK and beautiful on. It is a big investment piece but it really is a special blouse. Tabitha kindly sent me one, I adore it...
Tabitha Webb £295
Jeans - Mos Mosh
Bag - Hill and Friends
Boots - Chloe via Vestiaire Collective

Less a round up of strictly Western blouses more a round up of the blouses I would like to buy on the high street at the moment...

Next on the agenda are boots...ankle boots are one of my most worn things in the winter, I will go on a search for the best...

Its Time to Embrace Autumn....

10.08.2018

Dress - Hush £99
Boots - Hush £259
Bag - Hush £139
Style Theory: The Autumn has officially hit, there is a chill on the air so it is the ideal time to start thinking about some key items to cocoon yourself in. The building blocks to a wearable, chic Autumn/Winter wardrobe are a beautiful midi dress, a great jacket, leather leggings, a chic pair of boots, trainers and some wear all season knitwear.

Dresses have come into their own over the last few years and this Hush shirt dress is perfect to take on the Autumn elements in. The fabric is super soft, the fit comfortable (although comes up huge - so size down two sizes - I am wearing a size 8 and I really need a uk6 - I am normally a 10) such a great length to wear with either boots or trainers, with a biker jacket thrown over the top it ticks all the boxes for the perfect elegant and chic autumn look..

Dress - Hush £99
Boots - Hush £259
Bag - Hush £139
These boots are great on, super comfortable to walk in, ruched so calf size isn't such a problem and give dresses an edge. The leather is amazing quality, super soft and feels expensive on. I will be wearing them over skinny black jeans with oversized jumpers for a laid back rock chick look and with all my dresses this season..
Jacket - Hush £145
Jumper - Hush £99
Leather Leggings - Hush £345
Trainers - Hush £145
Bag - Hush £79

This is my favourite kind of Autumn outfit,  comfortable, laid back, practical but ticking off trends at the same time. I love adding a new jacket to my wardrobe, winters are long in the UK so by the time the winter is finished I am sick of seeing my coat. So I am starting the season with a new design and embracing the checked trend, this Hush jacket has literally not been off me since it arrived. It is oversized so I sized down to a size 8,  it is super cosy but light, perfect for the schoolrun and weekend walks. I pop a denim jacket underneath for an extra layer, such a useful jacket...

Leather leggings are the big investment piece, but are so worth it, I love these Hush ones, I sized down again, make sure you always buy them really tight as they do give a little and you really need them to look tight on.  These are leggings, so just an elasticated waist, I love them with slightly oversized jumpers and a coat but they also look great with a polo neck, blazer and knee high riding boots (a la Kate Middleton - loving the country look at the moment)

The jumper is super soft and cosy, again I have worn this loads on the schoolrun, perfect for popping on with leather leggings or jeans. The trainers are great, super comfy and a distressed colour so look cool on.

These pieces will play a major part in my wardrobe this season, I have worn each item a few times already (I have only had them for two weeks) which is always a good sign..

Bring on the autumn...
