Style Theory: A new season brings with it much needed newness, colours and designs onto the high street. The new Spring ranges are dropping into the shops now, they bring a breath of new fashion fresh air, bright prints, injections of much needed colour and the good news is they can easily be added to your winter wardrobe to wear now...just pop Spring tops under warm, faux furs or long, wool coats with jeans and boots. In the summer swap winter looks for denim shorts, maxi dresses, denim jackets and sandals...

Here are the items I have bought or are on my shopping list now...

Love this top, it will look fab now under a chunky pink cardigan (see the &OtherStories one below) with ankle length jeans and trainers and in the summer wear with pale blue jeans and tan sandals, one of those tops you can wear loads.

Love this top, it looks amazing 'in real life'. It is a complete eyecatcher, the wrap detail across the front will be excellent to cover over a tummy, again I would wear this with boyfriend jeans and red sock boots - super cool. In the summer wear with a denim skirt and white supergas.

I have this top, it is such a beautiful soft colour, really flattering against my skin. It looks great worn with fine gold jewellery, boyfriend/ankle length jeans and a pair of tan/red heels. (I am wearing it below)

These are the jeans I live in, I absolutely love them, they are the perfect length for me (I am 5ft3) but do size down - I take a size 27 (I am a size 10) honestly they are gorgeous, they look great with boots, heels, sandals and trainers - they are brilliant (and I paid full price for them- arghhh!)

Love this Rixo-esque top, it looks great on, it is quite short so I wear a black bodysuit underneath like the one below.. I bought a size 10 so I would say true to size.

This is a good basic body, these are a lifesaver under tops (stops me flashing my tummy!)

Can't wait to wear this top with jeans and white supergas in the summer!!

Rixo £175

This is really expensive but I just wanted to show you this beautiful Rixo top, it is 80s 'tastic, it will look amazing with light blue jeans and trainers/heels, just such a fab shape. I would wear it with some simple gold jewellery, I think the scarf is a little fussy. If you are looking for any Rixo pieces check out Studio B they have a fab range and some fab new Scandi brands, I am hoping they will soon be stocking this top.

A little random but this dress is gorgeous, if you are looking for something a little extra special for going out this would look great with a black biker thrown over the top and a huge oversized, blue scarf (love it with the white boots too!)

I have been stalking this jumper for a while, I spotted it on Instagram and love it, be quick though it will sell out fasssttt!

Me+Em £169

I have just ordered these, they are sooo expensive but Me+Em trousers are worth the big investment. I order a size down as I find they come up a little big and I will have to take them up (a shame as I will lose the split!) but they are just gorge. I had my eye on some Isabel Marant red tracksuit bottoms but they were too expensive. These have more of a trouser cut so will be more flattering and good for wearing out out. I will wear them with a tee and pink heels for a night out, throw my faux fur over the top to keep me warm. In the summer these will be fab with a breton tee and trainers..

Feeling the love for the cardi again this season and this one is fab, the colours mean it will go with everything - go matchy matchy over a blue/pink/red top or clash up over a floral dress, this will be such a useful item all year through..

Such a cute blouse, my sister sent me a photo of this saying I think you might like this, she was right I love it...now on the shopping list..it will look great with the Me+Em red trousers and white boots (more on white boots in my next blog post)

Quite the mix but things I have been stalking online or have bought to add a little interest to my winter wardrobe! Next on the agenda are white boots, admittedly I am a little late to the party on these but I think will add something to my outfits and then navy or blue bags..I have realised I need one of these for the Spring and summer it will look great with all the pinks in my wardrobe and clash perfectly with the reds...

In the meantime c'mon Spring!!

Spotlight on Topshop New Season

Style Theory: Maybe its the slightly chillier evenings, maybe it is the fact it is starting to get darker earlier but there is no doubting that I am starting to get excited about the new season. So many gorgeous items arriving, some perfect pieces to invest in now and wear now and that will seamlessly take you in the winter. 

Starting with a look at Topshop new season..

I love knitwear, especially worn with shorts or a skirt and white pumps in the summer, it looks elegant and keeps you cosy as the weather turns colder and looks just as good with jeans and boots in the winter..

These are the jumpers that will look amazing on and ideas how to style..

Love the roll neck, puff sleeves and the vivid red colour..can be worn as below

Pair with a floral skirt and trainers...With shorts - it would look fab with denim shorts..

Simply with jeans and cool trainers..

Slightly obsessed with this colour this season, it is stunning on, looks great against sunkissed skin or cheat like me with a touch of St Tropez mousse! Wear it as below..

Love mustard clashed with a pop of red, the sunglasses add a interesting twist or wear with red shoes and a slick of red lipstick.

It is all about the tie detail at the moment, these are the perfect denim update, wear now with white trainers and in the winter with black sock boots.

Summer perfection with a white tee and tan, strappy sandals..

In the winter you can make a statement in them with a cool leopard print coat and boots.

This top is a fab find, it is fairly similar to the Isabel Marant top I have been desperate for all summer but it was too expensive. I have ordered this...

Love, love the sleeves on this top, will look fab under black or denim dungarees now and in the winter wear with black jeans and boots.

So not exactly the same but just to illustrate how great puff sleeves look under dungarees...

Backpacks will be big news this Autumn/Winter (yet again!) and you cannot go wrong with a tan leather backpack, they look chic and elegant and are practical too..

Chic, preppy and cool, a tan backpack and a stripey shirt is the ideal combinaton.

There is something very Zimmerman about this top, slouchy, boho and will look great with denim shorts/jeans now and in the winter wear with leather jeans and trainers..

A few ideas for the next season but all items can be worn now,  I do love a multi season buy and at 42 I still love Topshop...are you a jumper/shorts/skirt kind of girl? Duvall Jumpsuit by Unique was £245 now £130

Style Theory: Topshop is the best 'fashion filler' for a wardrobe, they have great on trend pieces that you can mix and match with your capsule wardrobe to bring your looks up to date. Super easy to wear and to shop from, Topshop is a great quick fashion fix and where I have bought some of my favourite clothes over the years.

Admittedly when you do walk in you may feel it is targeted at a young market, but stick with it and have a look through there are so many gorgeous tops/skirts/trouser/tees and shoes, that are perfect for all ages, trust me, here is the best of the sale that started today..

Petite Embroidered Stripe Top now £20

This is a petite so size up, a beautifully pretty top, it would look fab with denim shorts and white superga trainers.

Leather Lock front Bag was £45 now £20

A black leather bag is the perfect accessory, it can be matched with black espadrilles in the summer and comes into it's own in the Autumn and winter months..I am already dreaming of black cashmere jumpers, blue skinny ankle length jeans with Chloe boots and this black bag..perfect! This bag also comes in pink and looks great in the summer..

The perfect dress for wearing out for dinner on holiday, clash with a pair of red espadrilles and add a basket bag for an eye catching look..

Flute Sleeve Lace dress was £38 now £18

I have been looking at this dress for a while and now it is £18 it is worth ordering. I will dress down with a pair of white trainers for daytime look.

Silk Hanky Hem Dress Boutique was £170 now £85

A super luxurious, statement dress, would look beautiful for a wedding or summer event. Add a pair of dark pink heels and straw clutch..stunning.

Gingham Smock Dress was £39 now £20

The ideal dress throw over swimwear for going to the beach, just add a pair of flip flops and a big basket bag and you are good to go.

Romantic Tab T Shirt was £22 now £12

Just perfectly styled in the photo above, a stripe tee is such a useful item to have in the wardrobe, this has a tab on the back saying 'romantic' so a little different.

Again a really useful top for the summer, ideal paired with ankle length skinny jeans and navy wedge espadrilles.

The gingham trend is very this year so this top is the perfect way to tap into the trend without breaking the bank.

I love a silver leather skirt, it looks amazing dressed down with a grey sweater and trainers (like the photo below)

A cute update for your summer wardrobe, these would look incredibly chic with a black cotton dress and a basket bag for going to beach or walking around town.

A gold pair of sandals can be looked on as a neutral colour, they will dress up any outfit, simply wear with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a black top and you immediately look evening ready.
