A Healthy Dose of Outfit Inspiration....

3.27.2016

Style Theory: From cosy oversized cardigans paired with camisole tops to luxe bomber jackets. With splashes of metallic and generous mixes of pink and khakis, Spring style is looking sumptuous but subtle, classic with a twist.
Be bold with golds and silvers, they are not only restricted to Christmas, experiment with Gucci-esque ankle strap shoes, be comfortable in block heels and the perennial Mum-friendly trainer and relax in dungarees, no longer a statement trend.

Spring is a time to embrace colour but look at muted pinks and khakis, with a zing of mustard (but not all together) Your jean hems are ankle length and an oval buckled belt is a must-have. Your knitwear is oversized, balance out proportions and add frills and peplums for drama.

Sportswear can be worn dressed up or dressed down. And my one big tip that stays the same year to year is always make sure two items you are wearing match (this can be accessories and clothing), you can wear the craziest mix of colours but as long as two items are matching it the outfit looks pulled together and well thought out.

These are the looks that are inspiring me this Spring.....

Over the next few months I will help you track down all the items you need to bring your Spring wardrobe up to date and give it a 2016 'lift'. Best high street finds to outfit ideas, all we need now is the sun to come out, a some point..soon!!

I look forward to finding some exciting High Street gems with you, which trend do you like the look of this year are you going to embrace the 90s look or do you veer towards a more classic twist? As always I would love love to hear your thoughts and comments, I hope you have had a wonderful Easter Weekend, until next time Fran xxxx

  1. Love the new look blog! I definitely have pinned a few of these too. I'm on the look out to replace some old silver hi tops with new trainers, maybe an animal print scarf and some more colourful spring knitwear. Some gorgeous textures here.

  2. Some much needed inspiration here! It's that inbetween time when I want to wear jackets but it's still coat weather really so I'm feeling a bit meh! Looking at what I've already bought I've gone for mainly classic but with a couple of twists! What I need after seeing your gorgeous pics are some flat Mary Janes with an ankle strap I think! Love the outfit with the green ruffle shirt, crop jeans and green sunnies! xx

    1. You are so right Michelle, it is getting a bit boring wearing a parka! Loving the ankle strap Mary Janes too, I bought some last year and have just bought some little vintage Gucci ones (at least I hope they are authentic!)

  3. I've been searching for a chunky oversized/longline cardigan to wear over more summery tops, I hope you have more luck than me! They're perfect for wearing as my baby bump (and bum!) grows and I can eventually wear instead of my winter coat. Come on Spring!

  4. Look forward to seeing your suggestions on cardis, have got lots of skinny cropped ones which are ok with a dress but can easily look frumpy . Also up for some advice on blazers. Thanks!
